The LIVESTRONG 5K Trail Run is a fundraising event for the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) whose mission is to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. Since its inception in 1997, the LAF has awarded millions of dollars in funding for cancer research and survivorship programs. In 2007, the LAF awarded $100,000 to the West Michigan Cancer Center to help develop the Center's Wellness Program. The LIVESTRONG 5K is put on by a group of local volunteers whose lives have all been affected by cancer.
